Package Description
Ireland’s beautiful South is opened to you in this exciting 8-night independent tour that takes you through four distinctive and lovely cities while staying in luxurious 4 & 5 star hotels along the way.
Upon arrival you will pick up your car and make your way to Limerick, situated along the River Shannon in the county it shares its name with, where you will spend your first night at the 4-star Strand Hotel. Here you will be within easy reach of local sites such as St. Johns Castle & Cathedral and the Frank McCourt Museum, of Angela's Ashes fame.
On your second day you will make your way to the charming village of Castlemartyr in County Cork. With your home base at the 5-star Castlemartyr Resort, a 17th Century country manor house adjacent to the ruins of an 800 year old castle, you will have two days to experience the local flavor. Here on Cork City’s doorstep, you can explore the area including sites such as Old Midleton Distillery (home of Jameson’s Whiskey) and the Fota House Arboretum and Gardens.
From Cork, you will head to the enchanting city of Waterford, Ireland’s oldest and fifth largest city. With the 4-star Faithlegg House Hotel as your hosts, you have 2 days to explore the area with such attractions as the Copper Coast Geopark, the Waterford Museum of Treasures and the House of Waterford Crystal Visitors Center.
On day six you will head to the capital city of Dublin for two nights at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel. While there do not miss visiting the Temple Bar, Christ Church Cathedral and Trinity College to view the Book of Kells.
Once you have gotten a taste for Dublin’s culture and nightlife, you will make your way back to Limerick on your eighth day and return once again to the Strand Hotel. Enjoy a meal in one of the fine restaurants the Strand has to offer and wind down before saying farewell for now to the Emerald Isle.
