Situated on the southwest coast of Italy facing the gleaming blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Amalfi Coast is one of Italy's most popular tourist destinations. It is rrenowned for its rugged terrain, scenic beauty, picturesque towns and diversity.

Sorrento is the central city in the Amalfi region. It boasts numerous hotels, delicious restaurants and great shopping. The town overlooks the bay of Naples, and many areas in the city allow the sight of Naples itself (visible across the bay), Vesuvius, and the island of Capri. Capri is only a short ferry ride across the Bay from Sorrento, and is know for its famous "blue grotto" A combination of geological factors allows the sunshine which passes through an underwater cavity to illuminate the grotto with the most magnificent blue hue, and as such has become a huge tourist attraction.

Also close to Sorrento is the ancient city of Pompeii which was destroyed and buried during a catastrophic eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in AD 79. Excavation over the years has unearthed a significant section of the city which can be explored and studied by visitors, providing a glimpse of the life and culture of that time.

Farther south from Sorrento is the popular city of Positano. The main part of the city sits in an enclave in the hills leading down to the coast. With the mountains behind and the sea before you, the vistas are magnificent wherever you look.

The Amalfi Coast is a must-see destination which will not disappoint and this vacation will provide memories which will last a life time!
